Obama’s Ambitious Agenda Carries a Few Bruises

The worldwide leaders are attempting to make advancements in controlling climate change. Mr. Obama now has to put an even greater focus on climate change amongst his other major issues such as, the economy and healthcare. According to John Harwood, "Mr.Obama's most ambitious effort is to reshape America's economy in the name of averting environmental disaster, and to persuade foreign rivals to work together toward that goal." President Obama is essentially try to "kill two birds with one stone," in that he is attempting to help our economy and the environment at the same time. However, this could potentially hurt our 10 percent unemployment rate even more, although Pelosi states that this will create more jobs opportunities. If Obama plans to make a green economy then jobs would now open up in the science research field. These jobs would be taken by the more educated people, not the average "Joe" which our country mostly consists of. People that work in places such as, coal mines and oil mines will lose their jobs, which will cause an increase in unemployment.

Also, President Obama would like to raise domestic energy prices so that America could send money overseas to help the environment damage. Although this could help our environment, which is in dire need of help, many people can not afford this increase in energy prices in our present day economy.
